Fika Event with Cardamom Buns, Chocolate Balls, and Presentation
We’ll be serving freshly baked cardamom buns from Fika Bakeshop & Kitchen and homemade Swedish chocolate balls, along with coffee, tea, or punch. During the event, Nikolas Payne will give a presentation on the history of “fika” in Sweden.
You might have been doing fika for years, but do you know the history behind it? From death-row twins, to exiled kings and outlaws drinking coffee in the woods, it turns out Sweden’s most beloved domestic ritual has a surprisingly wild past.
Sunday, April 26, 2:00–3:30 PM, in Viking Hall
Cost: $10
Come relax, learn something new, and share a warm and welcoming moment with friends and community.
